About Me
Jennifer is recognized as a Teacher of Distinction by The Royal Conservatory.
She began studying the piano at the age of four and was a member of Gower Youth Band and the Newfoundland Symphony Youth Orchestra. She began teaching piano while in high school at The Music Collection in St. John’s, NF. She received a BSc in Psychology from Dalhousie University while teaching at MusicStop (now Long & McQuade) in Halifax, NS. In Victoria, BC, Jennifer obtained a Teacher's Diploma with Honours from the Victoria Conservatory of Music while teaching at Allison Pianos. She then moved back to Halifax to teach at the Maritime Conservatory of Performing Arts and obtained a Performer's Diploma with Honours from the Royal Conservatory of Music. Jennifer became a member of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers Association and ran her own music studio for 12 years in the Toronto area and served as Musical Director for Sheridan United Church in Mississauga. Jennifer is an RCM Advanced Specialist Certified Teacher in piano and theory. She has recorded a CD of classical piano pieces entitled "Believe" in support of SickKids.
She returned to Nova Scotia and is a parttime organist and pianist for St. James United Church. She is a member of the Nova Scotia Registered Music Teachers' Association. Jennifer has been teaching for 30 years and has opened her studio MossMusic in Bedford, welcoming students of all ages and levels.
